1. O-H-I-O!!

About 6 months ago I began wrestling with God regarding what His future plans are for my life.  It has been a whirlwind that I’ve not experienced up to this point in my life, but through it all, I have seen how He has been working in my heart as I’ve been obedient in stepping out in faith to see what the next step is that HE has for Mary, the kids, and me.

It became crystal clear that God was calling us away from Generations Christian Church and toward the next step in our lives.  I have recently accepted a position at Newpointe Community Church in Dover, Ohio as the Director of Creative Arts.  Our last weekend at GCC will be July23/24th, and we will be pulling out of Trinity the following day.

Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to put to words how we feel about this.  We absolutely LOVE GCC!  We have made family in a place where we had no blood relatives.  We have grown tremendously as children of God and as people in our almost 4 years here.  It literally makes no common sense why we would leave such an amazing place when you look at the surface.  God is doing amazing things at GCC, and we are honored to have belonged to such a great church family.  This has always been much more than a job to me.

What’s exciting is that God has clearly called us back to Ohio.  If you’ve ever lived in Ohio, or any place that is cloudy and snowy, you know that only a miracle of God would take a person back to that horrible climate after loving living in sunny Florida.  Seriously, God did a real work in my heart about this, and if I’m honest, it will be a struggle because we love being outdoors as a family.

The great thing about all of this is that we will not forget our family at GCC.  We will need therapeutic doses of sun on a winterly basis, and the great thing is we know we have family to visit.  Since moving to Trinity, our vacations have been centered around visiting our family in Ohio…now we will get to use our vacation to visit our Florida family AND enjoy the weather.

From the bottom of the entire Studt family’s hearts…to everyone at Generations, WE LOVE YOU!

To all of our Ohio peeps, you can pick your jaw up off of the floor now…The Studts are really coming back!  This is not some kind of sick early April Fools joke.  We are really excited to join the Newpointe team!

We would ask for your prayers that we would be able to find a house asap and for safe travel as we make the 1000 mile drive.

And just in case you were wondering, I won’t be trading my skinny jeans and v-necks for Amish overalls anytime soon.  Although, I could probably just borrow some of Mary’s dad’s old clothes if I really wanted!

  2. Another baptism video.  I love the fact that I was able to sneak some B roll of Megan giving me her best Blue Steel

This was the second shoot using the red seamless…I love the red seamless.

  3. I’ve been crazy busy making lots of baptism testimonies lately.  Scott is a great guy and it’s been really amazing to see the transformation in his life.

  4. I shot/edited this back in March for my college roommate’s surprise 30th birthday party.  It kind of goes without saying that it can challenging to shoot video of yourself.  It’s even harder to do it when you’re trying to wrangle your children into the same shot with you!

All in all, it was a lot of fun to shoot, and even more fun to edit.

  5. I shot and edited this video for Mother’s Day weekend.  It’s a great story about a great young family’s struggle with balancing success and family life.

  6. For our current series, How To Wreck Your Life, we needed a title video to show how anything, no matter how innocent, can become an idol when it takes the place of God in our lives.

I came up with the absurd concept, pitched it, and with the help of my good friends Andrew, who did the character illustrations, Bernardo, who did the animation, and Wendy, who co-write the script with me & did the voiceover, it amounted to this!

Bernardo was also a great sport and let us poke fun at him as he “starred” in the video.  We told him we had to use the name of someone who we knew didn’t go to our church so no one would be offended.  Since he no longer works at GCC, his name was the obvious choice.  I should point out that we are in no way implying anything about idols that Bernardo may or may not have in his life :)

  7. Since the bittersweet loss of our dear friend, Bernardo, to Elevation Church I’ve been shooting/editing video again.  Here’s a recent baptism testimony video I shot/edited.
